i bought a house. then i quit my job.
“what are you going to do?” everybody asks.
the stock reply that i’ve developed goes something like, “i’m gonna freelance being me.”
need a melanie? i’ve got one. will travel.
i’m going to work for cash and trade as often as possible. i’m going to go on tour cross-country with sleeping people as their merch girl/babysitter. i’m going to garden. i’m going to host weekly gatherings of the best people portland has sent my way. i’m going to finish this album so that mushpot can put it out this fall. i’m going to listen to genesis and the beach boys. i’m going to the beach. i’m going to write letters and make cheese and smoke salmon and draw pictures. i’m going to laugh.
